My journey as an artist

began behind the lens of a camera, where I first fell in love with the interplay of light and color. Early on, I explored hand-tinting photographs and transferring film onto art paper, sometimes enriching them with watercolor and pastel. These experimental processes laid the foundation for a lifelong creative path and eventually led me into both collage and oil painting mediums that continue to inspire and challenge me.

Along the way, I also worked as a Creative Uses Consultant for the Polaroid Corporation, exploring innovative photographic techniques and helping others do the same. I later had the privilege of teaching at the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, an experience that deepened my passion for mentoring emerging artists and sharing the joy of creative discovery.

Over the years, my work has taken me around the world, to galleries, museums, and classrooms, where I’ve had the privilege of teaching and exhibiting. From the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Florida, to the Krone Gallery in Zürich, Switzerland, each experience has shaped and deepened my approach to visual storytelling.

Today, I focus on painting and offering art mentoring, drawing on a lifetime of creative exploration. My process often begins with a faint idea and a playful act of covering a blank canvas or wood panel with color and textural marks that spark energy before a subject fully emerges.

Whether figurative or abstract, my paintings are rooted in a desire to reveal connection: between forms, between people, and between the light and color that move through everything.

Over the years, I’ve been represented by several galleries, with exhibitions that have spanned both coasts and continents. Most recently, my work was featured at the Chasen Gallery in Sarasota, Florida, on January 23, 2025. Now at 75, I find myself slowing down, creating more intentionally, mentoring with purpose, and savoring the quieter rhythm of this stage of life. Yet the spark of creativity continues to guide me, as it always has.
